Here are some of the photo’s from a holiday my family went on recently, the weather was lovely and grizzly (grey and drizzly) which was perfect for staying indoors with the fire going, just enjoying each other’s company. Croissant T-shirt and wellington boots, so stylish….

Outfit Of The Day | Flashback Jeans
I really cant tell you when last I’ve worn or even owned a pair of jeans that aren’t skinny jeans. That said Ive been on the hunt for some nice ripped jeans for Autumn and Winter. I came across this pair of high-waisted “flashback jeans” in Cotton On the other evening. They’re cut wider around the hips and thighs and then they narrow down into a slim fitted leg. It took a bit of getting used to, as Ive been so used to wearing skinny jeans but I actually really love these, they’re comfortable and loose fitting without being too bulky or baggy.
Im quite short so Ive been stuck in the mindset that looser fitting clothing will make me look dumpy and out of proportion, and this is why I have always worn tight fitting jeans. I saw this post http://www.womenyoushouldknow.net/powerful-images-show-actual-imprints-left-skin-women-wear/ and it really changed the way I see myself and how I think about the clothes I choose to wear.
Here’s an outfit I put together with my new jeans, Grey top – Cotton On – R128
Flashback Jeans – Cotton On – R499
Pink Lace tank – Pick n Pay clothing – R90
Gold TOMS shoes – R299

Afternoon Tea | Catch-up Post
Hello lovelies, It feels like forever since Ive blogged. It doesn’t look that way to you since I do write some of my posts in advance and have them queued up for times like this. I thought I needed to take some time out and just have a catch-up chat here, I started college just a few days ago, and after a year’s break, it has been tricky to get into the swing of things.
However, I think I’m finally getting the hang of these 6am wake-ups. I’m studying patisserie this year, I only go in 3 or 2 days a week depending on the week, and then the rest of my week is spent at home perfecting the things I’ve learnt.
So far this has taught me the importance of putting loads of time and effort into the things I make, sounds silly but the extra little bit of love does go a long way. I’m also enjoying getting to present my things in unique and beautiful ways, its equally important to make sure you make things that taste and look beautiful, we eat with our eyes too…
Here are some of the photo’s from my first baking practical. I’ve made fresh pink lemonade, scones, jam, breakfast muffins as well as some flapjacks. I will be posting some step-by-step recipes here soon, so look out for those.
P.S if you look really closely you can see my little brother in the background, he loves having photo’s taken of himself and he’s also been loving these “tea parties” we keep having.

Celebrate Body Lotion | Lush Cosmetics
I don’t know if Im completely won over by the smell of this body lotion yet. That said, It feels AMAZING on my skin. I suffer with really dry skin, especially my knee’s, ankles, elbows ect. The cream smoothes on so beautifully and keeps my skin so soft and moisturised for hours and hours.
The little pot contains Brazilian Orange oil, Lime Oil, Cognac Oil, Almond Oil and organic Cocoa Butter.
I think it could be the Cognac oil in here that Im not quite loving, smell-wise. But Im a huge fan of Citrus smells and the combination of Orange and Lime is beautiful.
This is the first body lotion Ive used from Lush and I will definitely make an effort to try some of their other ones.
I hope you enjoyed this post, all my love, Quartz xx
River Adventure
This past week I was visiting my grandparents up in Sabie, Mpumulanga. (Google will help you locate this)
The rivers and scenery around there are just so beautiful, everything seemed greener and more lush than back home. Here are some of the photo’s I took over the week.
This first photo was taken on a rainy, grey day. It was still really hot outside despite the rain. This photo was taken of a mountain bike trail, my dad was doing a 4 day mountain bike race and this was one of the points we went to to see him ride past. These last few photo’s are of the Sabie river, my grandpa lives really close to it and he is an avid fisherman too so we got to see the river quite often.
I hope you have enjoyed these pictures, Love Quartz xx
