Lush Cosmetics Review | Floating Flower

This is a new bath bomb from Lush and its already a favourite of mine. It smells like jasmine and creates creamy, foamy bubbles that are incredibly moisturising. This is one of their bath bombs where the scent lingers on your skin for quite some time after you’ve stepped out of the bath. IMG_7367  Mine unfortunately got cracked on the way home. IMG_7368 IMG_7372  It first creates a pink and orange foam, then the centre starts to crumble out and its a kaleidoscope of bright colours. IMG_7374 The centre reminds me a bit of Lucky Charms? anyone else?

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, happy bathing, Love Quartz xx

**I am not paid to review these products, I am just an avid Lush lover, I will let you know if I have ever been paid to review any product.

Tea Party – “Boere Sjiek”

My mom took me for tea at a place called “Boere Sjiek” roughly translated that means “Farmer Chic” for anyone out there that isn’t South African. I was a little apprehensive as this place is in the middle of an industrial area… However, I seriously want all of my birthdays to be held at this place and Ill probably insist on having my wedding here too. The attention to detail really is next level, the entire trip was an experience of note. I don’t want to give too much away but this place is a must. They only do quiches, cakes and cupcakes, so eat lunch before you go. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, the quiche is R30 ( around $2.50) IMG_7379  A bunny cake stand and pastel pink cupcake!!IMG_7380 IMG_7381 IMG_7382 IMG_7383 IMG_7384  Even their sugar is pinkIMG_7385 IMG_7386 IMG_7387 IMG_7388 IMG_7389 IMG_7390 IMG_7391 IMG_7392 IMG_7393 IMG_7394  this was what my mom’s teapot came with, a furry little tea cosy. IMG_7396 IMG_7397 IMG_7400  my latte with pink sugarIMG_7401 IMG_7402  a giant pond filled with baubles and fresh roses, I couldn’t have been any happier if I tried. IMG_7404 IMG_7405 IMG_7406I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and if you are in Cape Town, grab your best friends and head out this way for a fancy little tea party.

February Favourites and Catch Up Post

Goodness me, it’s march already?! I really don’t know where this year has gone. At the moment Im busying myself while I pretend not to notice that Ive actually gotten my sister’s cold…

Ill start with my favourites for the past month,

Birkenstock’s, I know they’re probably about as unfashionable as crocs but they’re honestly the most comfortable pair of shoes Ive ever owned. I wear them in the kitchen’s at college as my “safety shoes” and they’ve taken on the challenge beautifully.

<<So there should be a picture here, however, my laptop is having none of that and just refuses to upload them, so Ill put some links in instead>>

Assorted ceramics and kitchenware. Need I really explain here, Ive been shopping like a middle-aged housewife lately…

Metallic tattoo’s. They look beautiful and they last for as long as Ive needed them to, so Im happy.

Tea tree toner water from Lush, Ive mentioned this in a favourites before but I had to give it some love here again because It’s really been saving my skin over the last few weeks.

Now. what have I actually been doing for the past month? Im doing some driving lessons because Im hoping to go and get my license soon, this actually was a goal for last year but I didn’t quite get around to it… Im also at college twice, sometimes 3 times a week. Ive been absolutely loving it there, it’s challenging but also what I love doing so Im very happy.

Since Im studying patisserie, it means Ive been cooking, baking and icing up an absolute storm in our house, more than what I usually do… and on that note Ive also spent quite a lot of time searching for specialist baking equipment and ingredients, I just had no idea that some things are so difficult to come by.

I think that’s all for this post, what have you been up to?

The Design Indaba |Cape Town

Hello there, here’s my VERY delayed post on the design Indaba. Honestly it’s the event of the year for me, I wait all year for it and this year it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Ive been looking at these bulbs for quite some time now.. I got the star shaped one, and ordered a brass fitting and pink cable for it. Im waiting very patiently for it to arrive. I also bought a bulb for my dad, as he designs lighting systems so I thought he might enjoy a unique gift like this… hopefully he doesn’t read this blog, if he does then, hey dad!

IMG_7343Liezel Trautman had a stand this year for her beautiful ceramics, I am slowly building a gorgeous little collection of her work.

here’s a cut-out paper card, I’m a fan of handwritten things, letters and cards so this would be my ultimate card.

IMG_7362and finally here’s my outfit for the day, blurry because my mom took it…

Nude jelly shoes, RVCA cream dress, bag from Atmosphere (UK) and a cherry obsidian crystal from my good friend Ashleigh.
