Tempeh Bacon |Vegan Pasta dish

IMG_6032  For the tempeh “bacon” 

Fill a small saucepan with a teaspoon of cumin, half a teaspoon of paprika, a half cup of soy sauce, and 3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (or any other vinegar)

bring the mixture to the boil

slice the Tempeh into strips

lay the strips down in a shallow dish, pour the marinade mix over the strips, cover with cling film and refrigerate for a few hours.

You just fry the strips on both sides in a small amount of oil, I sprinkle brown sugar over them while they’re frying, just to add a bit of sweetness to them.

IMG_6034While all of this was on the go, I cooked up some spaghetti pasta and heated up a tomato and basil pasta sauce (Im sure you could buy one or google a recipe)

I then put it all into a bowl and added some micro basil leaves over the top. This was honestly really delicious, I really enjoy Tempeh bacon and could just eat it on its own actually….

My mom actually had some of this too and she thoroughly enjoyed it even as a non-vegetarian.
